今回の記事が報じられたアジア地域においても、
キリスト教的家父長制が蔓延っていたところをアップデートしたが故に
未だに男系男子に拘っていては皇室が本当に滅びてしまうということが
分かり過ぎるほど分かるのでしょう。
英語を操れることを標榜する国会議員の方々は、
キリスト教圏から、どのように見られているかくらいは把握し、
国益を損ねない法改正に舵を切りなさい。

Greetings. I am a Japanese citizen residing in Japan.
I am sending this email to convey my thoughts after reading your article, “Succession reform to save the imperial family still excludes women.”
Thank you for reporting on how the Takaichi administration’s forceful stance regarding Japan’s imperial succession issue goes against the consensus of His Majesty the Emperor and the Japanese people.
As your article astutely points out that “the possibility of Princess Aiko becoming head of state is ruled out,” the true purpose of this proposed amendment to the Imperial Household Law is not to “secure the number of imperial family members,” let alone to “realize a stable imperial succession.” Its actual aim is to prevent Princess Aiko from succeeding to the throne, a goal strongly pushed by the religious right and groups like the former Unification Church, which form the support base of the Takaichi administration.
There were citizens who collected as many as 80,000 signatures demanding Princess Aiko’s succession to the throne and attempted to submit them to the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), but the LDP refused to accept them.
Furthermore, Mr. Asahiro Kuni, a descendant of one of the ancient dynastic branches, recently cited an anecdote during a media interview about how Emperor Showa tried to protect the people at the risk of his own life when he met with General MacArthur. He stated, “If asked whether anyone among the descendants of the former imperial branches has such resolve, I cannot think of anyone.” He then added, “I cannot think of anyone other than Princess Aiko to become Emperor. Even if she is a woman, I believe it is only right that the child of Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress inherits the throne.” In other words, the government’s adoption plan is being publicly rejected by the very people the administration intends to adopt.
During a press conference on June 11, His Majesty the Emperor clearly expressed his thoughts on this matter, stating, “I hope it will be something that can gain the understanding of the people.”
Ignoring both His Majesty’s clearly expressed thoughts and the overwhelming voices of the public, the administration is aggressively pushing to realize an anachronistic and academically refuted ideology of an “unbroken imperial line exclusively through male succession.” The day after Representative Nakasone made his controversial remarks, I called his office and pressed them, asking, “Why do you ignore His Majesty’s thoughts and the consensus of the people?” A staff member tried to evade responsibility by placing the blame on His Majesty of all people, claiming, “Because His Majesty appointed Crown Prince Akishino as the heir, it is the Emperor’s will.” This is absolutely unforgivable.
This situation is a drastic measure that threatens the very future of the Imperial Household. The Japanese people, along with opposition parties, intellectuals, and the media, are almost entirely united in raising our voices in anger against this tyranny. We deeply desire the succession of Princess Aiko, the direct descendant of His Majesty the Emperor and His Majesty the Emperor Emeritus, who has always wished for the happiness of the people and pledged to share in their joys and sorrows. Crown Prince Akishino shares this wish as well.

記事の中で「愛子さまが国家元首となる道は閉ざされた」と明確に見抜かれている通り、高市政権が目論むこの皇室典範改正案の真の目的は、「皇族数の確保」でも、ましてや「安定的な皇位継承の実現」でもありません。その実際の目的は、高市政権の支持基盤である宗教的右派や旧統一教会などのグループが強く推し進める「愛子さまの皇位継承阻止」にあります。
愛子さまの皇位継承を求める8万人もの署名を集め、これを自由民主党（自民党）に提出しようとした市民たちもいましたが、自民党はその受け取りを拒否しました。
